Poll Results - Week of May 4

In last week's poll, we asked you what varsity sport Wake Forest should add if the University ever decides to expand the athletics department. In an overwhelming majority, most readers favored adding lacrosse.

Lacrosse received 72 percent of the vote, while softball was a distant second with 11 percent. Bowling received nine percent support, and gymnastics four percent.

Motorsports, unfortunately, got just one vote. If you don't think motorsports can happen at the intercollegiate level, check out the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers.

If Wake Forest were to ever add lacrosse, the Deacons would not be without rivals. Currently, four ACC schools field men's lacrosse while six have women's lacrosse teams. Duke, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia have both men's and women's teams. Boston College and Virginia Tech field women's lacrosse teams.

Wake Forest has lacrosse at the club level on campus with both men's and women's teams.
