Parr & Forman Begin Doubles Tourney Today

Wake Forest's Cory Parr and Steven Forman will begin competition in the NCAA doubles tournament this afternoon. The duo are scheduled to play their opening-round match at 5 p.m. ET against the University of Kentucky's top doubles tandem of Bruno Agostinelli and Brad Cox.

Parr and Forman already beat Agostinelli and Cox earlier this month in Wake Forest's NCAA second-round team defeat of UK.

Parr and Forman received a top-eight seed in the 32-team tournament. The Deacon duo won the ITA indoor title last November and could be considered a darkhorse to take the NCAA crown this spring. The pair has won each of its last six doubles matches since the regular season finale against Virginia Tech.

Parr competed in the NCAA singles tournament yesterday and was upset in the first round by Minnesota's Ishay Hadash. This could be a blessing in disguise for the Parr/Forman doubles team, however, as Parr will not have to worry about playing a second-round singles match today as well.

You can watch Parr and Forman live and get up-to-the-minute stats at the Official Tournament Site.

NCAA Men's Tennis Live Stats

The Wake Forest men's tennis team is set to open Sweet 16 play in the NCAA Tournament today in College Station, Texas. The No. 18-ranked Demon Deacons will take on the No. 6-ranked Baylor Bears beginning at 4 p.m. ET.

Live stats of the match are available here.

This is Wake's second trip to the NCAA Sweet 16 in the past three seasons. In 2007, the Deacs made it to the Sweet 16 behind All-American Todd Paul. Paul and the Deacons fell to Virginia, 4-1, in Athens, Ga., that year.

This time around, Wake Forest is led by All-Americans Cory Parr and Steven Forman. As a doubles team, the pair is ranked No. 6 in the country. Parr is ranked No. 10 in the nation in singles play and was recently named the ITA Mideast Region Player of the Year.
